Bridget asked Isabel Allende:

How did it feel when you submitted your first book for publication? Were you at all hesitant about the merit of your writing?

Isabel Allende When I sent my first manuscript to an agent in Spain (I write in Spanish) I was terrified, anxious, and hopeful. All kinds of feelings tormented me while I waited for her reply. I had no idea if my book had any merit, if the agent would represent me, if it would ever get published...And then, when finally the novel was out, I prayed that people would like it. Writing is hazardous, Bridget. I have been doing it for 33 years and I still have doubts, I still get nervous, and I still LOVE IT !
