I don't understand Tane's ending scene. She's by the Mulberry tree, sleeps, then wakes up to a paper butterfly and a wet side. What does that mean?

Maybe the island of Komoridu is not as dead as we think it is and is up to Tane to discover that. I don´t know about the rumours of a sequel, I feel like there is not enough material for that.
