What do you think the ending means? When she says "I'm not going back to Boston, I didn't say. These cells may look fairly normal, but they are not." – does this just mean that she won't do what is expected of her (go back to Boston, not have a relationship with an older man) or that she has been diagnosed with cancer just like her father (hence the mentioning of cells)?
