Goodreads asked Jodi Rath:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jodi Rath I have loved to write since I was five-years-old. I used to play "magazine" where I'd take my mom's old magazines and cut them up then glue them back together to make my own spread. I'd use my dolls and stuffed animals as my staff and use a red marker to mark-up copy edits--I didn't really understand that concept then though! LOL At age eight I signed up to win a set of World Book Encyclopedias at the Fairfield County Fair and I won! I used to close my eyes and pick a book then open it and pick a page and then read the entry and then write a summary pretending I was a journalist. So, it's really not difficult for a kid like that to get inspired to write:)
