It's a standalone, right? Or is it gonna suddenly become "first in a series" after I read it and come across some sort of cliffhanger at the end? (Someone who has read it already, please tell it doesn't have any of those and can be read as a standalone)

I'm surprised to see people saying it is. You feel as though the story is just getting started, and it's done. It's really, really aggravating! Absolutely nothing is resolved, in any way, at all. I was so surprised to turn the page and find myself faced with the Acknowledgments. Extremely annoying.(less)
