Hi Mr. Gagne: I am really enjoying your two volume set on the King's Daughters. I am a member of a Facebook group where we share information on our ancestors who were Daughters. Some folks don't own the set and I would like to help them by posting a bio of their ancestor on the group's page. Now, understandably, I would like to see if that would be ok with you and I completely understand if you prefer not? Doris

Hi Doris,
Thanks for your question and for your interest in my books.
Posting a biography would be a clear violation of my copyright on the books. It would be like stealing, not only from me but from the people who bought the books. I don't have a salary or an expense account and wrote these books using my own time and money, traveling to do the research and translating the original French sources, so I feel that purchasing the books helps to not only cover those costs and the cost of producing and distributing them, but also helps me to hopefully write more books.
My Filles du Roi and Filles à Marier books are available from the American-French Genealogical Society (www.amfgs.org), so anyone interested in them can easily purchase a copy. They can also check with a local genealogy or historical society for the books or on WorldCat for a library near them that has the books (http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/937680970).
You can post a reply with a reference to the page number of the books, but any copying of the content is illegal.

How can I get a copy of the index you authored for the 30 book set "Our French-Canadian Ancestors" in English? I have seen it in a library. I began collecting the books two years ago, and later bought the digital copy of 30 books, but there is so much information even in the other books, that I would love to be able to find these bits on my ancestors when they come up in other people's story. Thanks!

Hello ! I'd love to get your King's Daughter book, which seems phenomenal ; I have contacted the AFGS website ; "unfortunately" for me, the shipping cost to have the book sent to me (in Belgium) is about 66 $ - the same cost as the book itself ! Is there any way to pay for a digital version of the book ? Thank you in advance, and congratulations for your thorough work on the subject.

Happy New Year Peter. I traced my Blais roots back to Pierre Blais (II) who immigrated to Quebec Ca from Hanc FR. I was surprised to learn that he married Anne Perrault, a Fille du Roi! Does her biography in your book contain more than DOB, marriage and DOD, etc? Also some question about her age... wikitree shows DOB 11/17/1647 Paris, FR, DOD 6/29/1688 at age 45, but those dates put her at 41.... thank you.
