Hello Juliet. I consider you a gifted woman. I was not a fan of the fantasy genre until someone recommended me to try to read the world of Sevenwaters. And so I did and how glad I am! You are a magnificent storyteller with an extraordinary imagination. Does anyone ever approached you with the idea of turning one of your stories into a movie? It would be amazing to see your characters coming to life!
Juliet Marillier
Thank you, Rosie - I'm delighted that you have enjoyed the Sevenwaters books. Someone once described my writing as 'Fantasy for people who don't read fantasy' which may be quite apt!
Re movies, it would be wonderful if someone with the right artistic vision plus financial backing made an offer for film rights to one or more of the books - so far this has not happened but I live in hope. My agent occasionally gets expressions of interest but nothing really serious so far.
All the best, Juliet

Juliet Marillier:
In the research and construction of your books, why kind of role does historical or technical research play, and how flexibly do you incorporate or interpret it for the purpose of the story? Your books have such detail and sense of place to feel believable and present, and still the fantasy aspects fit so seamlessly in with reality.

Your books are some of my favourites due to the blend of folklore and mythology. I'm doing the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge 2019 and am hoping you could recommend some of your favourite folklore and mythology books to stretch my reading in that category? Thanks in advance.

Juliet, both your series of Blackthorn and Grim, plus the Warrior Bard series are just great stories. I really feel that a good map is essential to both of these sets of books and reader's enjoyment. Why is there no map in the Blackthorn and Grim and 3 Warrior Bard novels books?
