Goodreads asked Jenycka Wolfe:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jenycka Wolfe Wine. A lot of wine. I usually have some lemon oil diffusing in the background. And I often have the television going while I'm writing. It's different shows for my different series. For instance, I usually watch 'Republic of Doyle' (yeah I know I keep plugging it) for my Wildlands series, partly for the accent and partly because my brain just links the one to the other now. When I write for La Belle Epoque, it's usually Downton Abbey. I've written most of the second Innocents book (Innocence Aroused, almost ready for release at the time I'm doing this post), while watching the scifi movie "the Host" over and over. I have no idea why. I was never a Twilight fan. I kind of liked the book. WAY better than Twilight. Objectively, the movie isn't great, but it somehow stuck in my head as the 'space' where I work on Innocence Aroused, so there we go. I prefer movies to music when I write, so I don't know if I'll ever put up those author playlists that some other authors do.
