I been big fan for years. I loved Dreams Of Falling. How did you get idea for that book? Did something inspire you?

Thanks, Jenna! As for inspiration—I get my inspirations from everywhere. For this particular book, I was inspired by a trip to Scotland (where I learned about “Thin Places”), my grandmother’s trunks full of my mother’s and aunt’s party dresses from the 1950s, a book called “Lost Myrtle Beach” that showed all the buildings and places that aren’t there anymore, and by my lifelong friendship with my best friend, Claire (the book is dedicated to her).

I read one of your novels for the first time not long ago. It was The Sound Of Glass. I was blown away by your ability to draw readers in. I cried thru out The book. I now am one of your biggest fans. Thank you!!! My question is, when writing a story do you get attached to your characters as we do ? And also do you feel sad and perhaps lonely when you finish the book?
