Do we ever get a reason for why she calls the children "boy" and "girl" ? I'm about 11 chapters in and it is driving me crazy. Like, wtf don't they have names?

Keith Based on having only having seen the movie, my thinking was that yes, of course she loved them and wanted to name them, but as was previously mentione…moreBased on having only having seen the movie, my thinking was that yes, of course she loved them and wanted to name them, but as was previously mentioned, she knew that she could lose them at any point, and I guess she felt like naming them would be that last bit of connection to them that she didn't think she could handle, knowing they could be gone in seconds. Basically, she felt she needed that emotional distance to maintain what was left of her sanity and stay focused on survival.(less)
