When Peter beheaded Jest, it was the final nail in the coffin; for trading her heart for revenge, justice is meaningless in the court. The King becomes the figure-head, while the Queen brings bloodshed; a talented baker turns into a monarch because no one will listen. Catherine has dreams but they were stifled under social climbing parents having high expectations for themselves; sad, but in reading this novel you'll see why the Queen acts this way in Wonderland.
