Hi, Simone - I so enjoy your books and I'm happy to say that I often I suggest one of your titles to my book club for our October/Halloween read. Your style of writing is reminiscent of Barbara Erskine, another favorite of mine, who brings a historical aspect into her stories. How did you end up writing about the years between the world wars in many of your books? Thanks and can't wait for your next book!

Hi - thanks for recommending my books! I had an idea for a ghost story, and then I read something somewhere about how the English countryside was empty after WWI because so many of the men were dead. I thought that would be the perfect setting for a ghost story. Then I spent time researching the era, and the rest is history :)

I just finished The Broken Girls and it was AWESOME.why some character including deb's ghost says that you shouldn't let mary hand come in, when in person mary always said/done something personal to particular character. mary never actually says it unless some random girl mentioning it in her story telling.why is that?
