Of all of the characters you've crafted, which would be your all time favorite? Why?

That's not a question with an easy answer. Quite a few of them are favourites for very different reasons.
Jorg is my favourite because he's great to write about. I throw him into impossible situations and I know he's going to shock me with a brutally clever solution.
Jalan is my favourite because he makes me laugh my arse off. Even thinking about him makes me smile.
Nona is my favourite because she has so much heart and deserves to come out on top even though she keeps getting pushed back.

As a former AI researcher, do you have thoughts you would care to share wrt the technological singularity? Perhaps to get the ball rolling you might consider - Will global warming get us first? or In the absence of an evolutionary or programmed fear of "death", why would an AI even think to protect itself from being turned off?
