As a former AI researcher, do you have thoughts you would care to share wrt the technological singularity? Perhaps to get the ball rolling you might consider - Will global warming get us first? or In the absence of an evolutionary or programmed fear of "death", why would an AI even think to protect itself from being turned off?

I don't. Actual work in the area is far removed from the need to consider such questions. Nothing we've made is close to being intelligent in any normal sense despite attempts in the media to make it seem more interesting.

You've said that your books aren't in the same universe, but I've been finding characters and concepts that seem to connect them. Elias Taproot seems to be in most of your books and the Hayes Gates seem to be the creation of Nick Hayes. I'm beginning to think the only thing separating these worlds is time, but Nick Hayes is kind of a master at time manipulation. Is there a possibility that they'll all come together?

Do you know when the entire book of the ancestor-series will be available to order from UK suppliers (gardners)? I work in a bookstore and your two series from the broken empire (I've read the one with Jorg and loved it) is selling really well, so I would love to order your new series for our shelves!
