I have read your Sharing Knife series more than 20 times, and it has helped me through some of the darkest times of my life. I served for 4 years in the USMC, then nursing school for 4 years. I've been an ER RN for 10 years. I was just accepted at university for my Psychiatric Nurse Practicioner degree. When I can finally build a hospital, may please name the library in your honor? Dag and Fawn have kept me alive. TY

I am glad my work helped nourish you when you needed it. (And I'm always especially pleased to hear a good word for The Sharing Knife tetralogy.)
I've never had a library named in my honor, but it would be cool. Though I once had a name plaque on a chair in a library auditorium, that some fans rustled up for me when the library was canvassing. I suppose I can always hope for an asteroid. I did have an experimental rescue robot named after me once, years ago, which was a treat.

I read e-books on an iPad and mostly get them from iBooks. The indications of genre in 'Library' view are all over the place: "Penric's Demon" is labeled 'Historical', "Penric's Mission" and "Paladin of Souls" 'Epic', "The Curse of Chalion" 'Paranormal'. Of course many others are better labeled. I suppose that you are not the decider, but do you have any influence? And who does decide?

Hi Lois, your Barrayarans are some of my favourite people in the world. i loved the mix of cultures involved. Did you do much research into Russia and Greece beforehand or did you wing it? I am trying to write something set in Russia and I know scarily little about the culture. I was hoping you might have some tips on research.
