Kathy Cohen
Kathy Cohen asked Eloisa James:

In Too Wilde to wed, the duke is considering which of his sons could be the next duke (after North steps down). Alaric and Leonidas aren't candidates, but possibly Eric is. What happened to Alexander and Spartacus as potential candidates?

Eloisa James Hi Kathy!

That's a good question. I don't have a sound answer; it was basically just the duke musing over it. What's happening there is that any of his sons could take themselves out of succession as long as they did it before their father died. Leonidas immediately says no, and my assumption is that Alexander and Spartacus would agree with Leonidas. Their father thinks of Erik because he shows signs of growing up into someone who wouldn't necessarily want to carve his own way in the world, as Alexander and Spartacus will.
