Yes, I'm friends with many other authors! I couldn't possibly list them all (because I know I'd leave someone out), but I currently trade critiques with Alison Kemper, Sarah Fine, and Joy Hensley George, and I highly recommend their work.
I came up with the idea of four brothers who were vampires when I was back in school, and I wrote their story. By the time I hit my thirties, I still couldn't get those four brothers out of my head, but I knew I couldn't do vampires again. I tried to think of something that would be fun and different, so I settled on the classical elements of earth, air, fire, and water.
