Rin has complicated relationships with five different male characters in the book, whether they be a mentor, commander, friend, etc. Hero-worship could easily be mistaken for romance in several instances. Also, if two of a woman's male friends are rivals--as is the case in several instances here--that doesn't automatically turn their friend group into a love triangle. (less)
