Heather answers “I'd like to know how Goodreads allows...”

I'd like to know how Goodreads allows someone to rate a book that won't be available for months! And the rating is 2 stars! How does that happen? Tana French is a terrific author; her previous books rate highly; every author can have a dud, but shouldn't the goodreads reviewer actually READ the book before giving it 2 stars?! I think Good reads should remove that rating.

I love the Murder Squad series, but I always worry when an author goes off their established path. I asked for an advance read so I could judge whether I'd need to order multiple copies of this title or if one would do. If I disliked a book I wouldn't put anything on Goodreads without clearly explaining WHY and reminding folks we all have different tastes. (less)
