The 'Happy Anniversary' was in Spring of 2017. They got the dog between Jan and Feb of 2017. They got the kids between Feb and Spring of 2017. The anniversary of when they first made love is inconsequential, and the author wouldn't have thrown it in in the last chapter for no reason.
