This question contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[I've been fangirling over them a lot lately, so I'm curious, which scene did you enjoy writing more- when Tarik and Hayli met, or when Shade and Hayli met? :D (hide spoiler)]

Ahhh!!!! I love this question so much!!!! :D (And it makes me so happy to hear that someone besides me is fangirling over them...LOL!)
This answer may contain spoilers for The Madness Project... I forgot to mark it as spoiler-y when I submitted it and now the button has disappeared. So proceed at your own risk. ;-)

It's such a good question. I love the scene where Hayli and Tarik meet, because I just love the scene in general, with Zagger being all scowly and stern and Tarik's surprise when he touches Hayli's hand, and how she sees straight to that part of him he tries to hide from society, and she wants to hate him but can't help kinda sorta totally crushing on him either. And it's kind of fun for the reader because we know who they both are—we've already seen the world through both their eyes—and so seeing them meet for the first time, seeing their worlds colliding for the first time, is just so fun.
But then the scene when Hayli and Shade meet...it was such a fun scene to write, because we see a little of Hayli's prickly side, but we feel like we're in on the big secret because we know Shade is Tarik and that he knows who Hayli is but is pretending he doesn't, and acting all smart-alecky when he "guesses" that she's a mage. And he's so miserable but he's trying so hard to act tough and mysterious, and Hayli's all, "Psh, I'm so not impressed.....but tell me more." :-P And it also introduces that tortured part of their relationship at the beginning, where he's trying so hard to keep her at a distance, and can't explain why.
*sigh* So yeah. I loved writing both of them...I still can't decide which was my favorite!
I will say one of my favorite "meeting" scenes to write was with Hayli and Tarik both sneaking around in the Science Ministry and running into each other. That scene was just a ton of fun to write. :)

Have you ever had difficulty continuing a story after you've written the beginning? Like, struggled to know where it should go next, or been completely lost as to the direction that need to be taken? I ask because I began a story, and I find myself at a loss for what should happen next and I'm wondering if you have any remedies/advice for this predicament?
