Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

L.M. Ransom I like to use Pinterest as a springboard for inspiration. There was a picture of an antique carousel horse on my homepage one day, and the horse in that picture became my inspiration for Penumbra, the lead horse on the Flying Ponies Grand Carousel. I researched old carousels, and that led me to information about the beginnings of Coney Island.
The Flying Ponies Grand Carousel, while fictional, is an homage to those beautiful machines built during the days of the "Nickel Empire."
