What was really in my sister's house that night?

This isn't my genre, but I'll give it my best shot:
She walked the floors of the old house every night, determined to keep at bay the whispering and chanting that rose from beneath the floorboards in undulating waves. This house was not haunted - and she was not imagining things.

Great question! I would definitely choose Middle Earth, because I want to ride with the Riders of Rohan and Gandalf across the plains! Although I don't think Gandalf would give up Shadowfax for me, so... :-) I would have to borrow a horse from Rohan.
I would also love to visit Rivendell and, as creepy as this might be, visit the mines of Moria with Gimli. Middle Earth has so many wonderful places that would be inspiring to visit, as long as Saruman and Sauron weren't around.

I've been reading through the Lord of the Rings trilogy; I am currently reading Return of the King right now, along with Loki: Where Mischief Lies, by Mackenzi Lee. I also read Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, which was a really fun book. I'm looking forward to reading The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White this November.

I am a huge fan of Pinterest, so some of my ideas come from there. Two of my next writing projects were inspired by pictures there. One is inspired by an artist on Etsy. You never know where you'll find your next story!

Always write for you. Not everyone will like what you write, but as long as you do, you're golden. Explore new story ideas, even if to everyone else they seem unattainable, or even ridiculous. Lift is about an antique carousel endowed with magic. Not everyone will like it, but that's the story I wanted to tell.

Well, I just finished Tilt, the second book in the Flying Ponies trilogy. Right now I'm deciding what to work on next. It might be the second book in my YA fantasy trilogy, or maybe a story about a literary character most of us know of, that I'm not ready to name yet :-)

Telling stories! No two stories are ever truly alike, because each writer has a different vision of it. That's why there are so many stories in each genre. Some may appear alike, but there is always something unique to each one.

Lol! I'll let you know when I get some :-)

You x4ive that sexy beast of an XJ and have no groupies? You're doing something wrong. Lol. I love your work.

Lol up here if it's not a Wrangler then you get no respect. I do get a little on the dunes. Thank you! It was really fun to write.

I give myself permission to not write for a little while. After I finished writing Lift, I took a month or so off, just to let the muse have some tea and relax in her garden. After that period, she was ready to go, and I wrote the first in my YA fantasy series, which will be published down the road, after the Flying Ponies trilogy is complete.
Some authors advocate writing anyway, and I have done that. For me, though, realizing that I need some time off to regroup has worked the best for me.

I like to use Pinterest as a springboard for inspiration. There was a picture of an antique carousel horse on my homepage one day, and the horse in that picture became my inspiration for Penumbra, the lead horse on the Flying Ponies Grand Carousel. I researched old carousels, and that led me to information about the beginnings of Coney Island.
The Flying Ponies Grand Carousel, while fictional, is an homage to those beautiful machines built during the days of the "Nickel Empire."
