Goodreads asked David M. Salkin:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David M. Salkin Not every day is a great creative day. That's life. I don't believe this nonsense that you HAVE to write a certain amount of words every day. Says who? Why?
If you make your living writing, then you do need to WORK every day, but that doesn't mean writing. Work can mean research / reading, marketing, editing, etc.
When the muse is whispering into your ear, type as fast as you can. When you aren't feeling it, take a break! Excerise (we all sit too much anyway), go for a walk... play with your dog... do something FUN...
The story will come back to you with some rest and fun...
