I read this book without being aware The Remnant Chronicles even existed and I did just fine and really enjoyed the book.

I would definitely recommend reading The Remnant Chronicles before reading Dance of Thieves for the following reasons:
1) The world building. In TRC we are introduced to many cultural traditions and places and words that if you read DOF you may not understand fully and that are very important.
2) Quite a few of the characters have made a comeback for this book and it is not only gratifying to see how they have evolved and changed in the years leading to DOF, but also in TRC you get to truly understand them in ways not explained fully in DOF
3) The events that have led to the story of DOF have been primarily influenced by everything that happened in TRC.
Of course, you can still read dance of thieves on its own... It is an amazing story with brand new characters. But if you want to truly understand the essence of the story and what has influenced our characters it is highly recommended to read The Remnant Chronicles. I think it is totally worth it.

Technically no, but emotionally I want to say yes.

I didn't and could understand the story quite well; however, like many series taking place in the same worlds, it would add more depth.
Meg
Probably not but you SHOULD because the Remnant Chronicles are amazing.

you'll be able to read DOT without the other books, but, it'll be harder to comprehend the world building and the complexity of all the characters that come back to this book. i would recommend you to read the previous books, but, if like me, you have no interst in the other books, you can get yourself through the book.

Short answer: No. Slightly longer but helpful answer: Still no, but doing so gives minor spoilers for the first Remnant Chronicles book, if you plan on reading it in the future. I still enjoyed reading both series, though.

Although story is separate I personally would read other 3 books and ebook novella as this will add to story behind the book The story is still amazing alone but you know how you get hairs on back of neck when you see old characters and how their lives continued from previous story Whereas this will be lost if you don’t read them all
Adi
I don’t think so because I don’t think this book focuses on the events of TRC. But I hope Mary will approach this soon
