How do you get inspired to write?

James Firelocke Usually some chance event causes a book idea to pop into my head. For example, I was walking through the forest when I accidentally disturbed some hornets by gently poking their hive with a stick. I soon found myself running from an infuriated swarm and only managed to escape by hiding behind a waterfall. This made me reflect on how consumer society relentlessly pursues us and is never content until it has stung us into a stupor.
