Is it absolutely necessary to read this book before Oathbringer? (Like if I don't read this will I still be able to understand the stuff going on in Oathbringer?) Thanks!! I'm just not exactly a fan of Lift...sorry! :(

The biggest reason you are going to want to read it is for Nale's character arc and storyline. Also, by the end, I garuntee you will understand Lift a lot more. She undergoes a major character arc as well. I think Sanderson's genius in crafting Lift is lost on some people. You really have to read between the lines with her. At any given point, what she is doing—and why—is very different from what she says she is doing—and why. It's fun to watch Wyndle begin to discover this about her as well, and really begin to appreciate Lift.(less)
