Were you able to be a part of the script writing process for The Giver as it changed to a movie, and how did you deal (emotionally, personally, & professionally) with the changes that seem to be inevitable when a book is converted into a film?

I acted as a consultant. I did not write the screenplay. In order to accept changes that were inevitable...I became less possessive and simply let go.
