Hello! My question is: how do ideas come up when you're blocked? I mean, if you are on a reading or writing block, how do you get out of it?

I don't understand about a reading block. But I've experienced writer's block before, and I've discovered that it's a signal to me that I've taken a wrong turn with the book plot. I need to step back and take another run at that passage, to find out what I did wrong and what I can do to correct it.
