Jodi Taylor:
I was rereading "Just One Damned Thing After Another" and became curious over the reference to Butterfly Shoes? I have lots of sisters and a large number of female cousins most of them have extensive shoe collections. But I have never heard of Butterfly shoes. Information please.

This is a personal thing for me. Years ago, for the only time in my life, I was walking past a shoe shop when I saw a pair of pair of beautiful golden shoes, each decorated with a butterfly. They're very hard to describe but I love them dearly and even though they're well past their best - a bit like me, really - they're still in my cupboard, despite my ruthless chucking out policy. I still take them out and look at them occasionally. I had always planned to be buried with my kindle, but I think I might include the shoes as well. Please don't judge me.

Hi Jodi, are you secretly posting fake history on sites like 9gag or reddit? Cause https://9gag.com/gag/aoe5oy3 (" In 1795, French cavalry captured fourteen Dutch warships at sea as the water had frozen due to exceptionally cold weather, making it the only time in recorded history when horse-riding soldiers captured a fleet of ships.") - I do think this is something from a St. Mary´s Christmas story - right?! love!

Hi Jodi, First of all, I want to thank you so very much for igniting my love of history. I did history GCSE at school, even though I got a C, I found it boring and you have really brought the subject to life for me. I was just wondering if you have seen the film about Mary Queen of Scots and if so what you thought of it? Thanks, Danielle X
