How do you get inspired to write?

Maggie Shayne I was born a writer. In elementary school, as soon as I learned to spell, I was writing books on construction paper with Crayola illustrations, bringing them to school and borrowing my teacher's stapler to "bind" them. :) It's just always been with me.
