Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

J.L. Peridot I've been fascinated by the concept of the 'unreliable narrator'. When a story is told in first person, how do you know you can trust the person telling the story? They're fallible, just like the reader. Everything they say is limited by their awareness and perspective.

In "Birdwatchers", I wanted to write from the perspective of a nerdy, introverted male character. Not an alpha male, but not shy or inexperienced. Just someone quiet and thoughtful with a thing for nature and birds.
