I'd go to the Moon. Ian McDonald's Luna moon. I'd wear Dior, drink martinis and ask Lucasinho Corta to bake me a cake.

"Loved Mars, Hated the Food" by Willie Handler. And not a moment too soon! I've had my eye on this book since it came out.
"Forgotten Storm" by A.R. Vagnetti, except I ordered it in paperback recently because of the pretty cover. With the postal logjam this time of year, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes all summer to get here.
And... Sarah Smith's new book, which no one—not even the author herself—seems to be allowed to talk about yet! I'm honoured and excited to get an early look at this one. I've been waiting for it for AGES.

A hot soft-scifi novel. No alien sex slaves or names I can't pronounce — just a steamy office romance set on a space station.

Write. Treat writing and storytelling as a craft and study it. Creating anything is scary, and even if you do it for years, you'll always feel like you're having to push yourself. Be honest about your strengths and weaknesses every step of the way. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you have to write fast or write heaps - you don't. Likewise, don't fall into the trap of thinking you're writing when you're actually not.

I've been fascinated by the concept of the 'unreliable narrator'. When a story is told in first person, how do you know you can trust the person telling the story? They're fallible, just like the reader. Everything they say is limited by their awareness and perspective.
In "Birdwatchers", I wanted to write from the perspective of a nerdy, introverted male character. Not an alpha male, but not shy or inexperienced. Just someone quiet and thoughtful with a thing for nature and birds.

I stop writing. At least, that's how I try to deal with it. For me, writer's block usually means I'm overthinking my story, I'm stressed about something, or I'm bored with what I'm doing. It helps to get space from my project and come back to it in a fresher state of mind.
