Jennifer A. Nielsen:
Hello Mrs. Nielsen! I was looking through the list of books you have written, and I saw a book called Resistance, which is predicted to be published in the fall of 2018 (link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/34739995-resistance). Can you tell us what this is about yet, or will we have to wait to find out?

The description for RESISTANCE isn't great, right? I'm almost to the end of edits and it should be out in about a year.
RESISTANCE tells the story of a Jewish girl living in World War 2 era Poland who becomes a courier, using false identification and her own wits to smuggle information, food, and sometimes weapons into the ghettos, and sometimes to smuggle people out. She eventually joins the underground movement, intending to prove to the world that there were Jewish people who fought back.
This is based on a true story but is also a holocaust era story that I do not believe has been told in YA fiction. I am super excited for it to release, and I hope you'll like it!

Jennifer A. Nielsen:
Hello! I'm Kate. My question is on writing. Currently, I have more than one story idea, and it's hard to pin down the one that I should write. Should I just commit to one idea or wait for the story idea that screams "That's the one!"? If you have an answer that's beyond my question, that's awesome! I need the help :)

Hello Ms. Nielsen, I LOVED "Words on Fire" and "Resistance" they were soooo good! Historical Fiction is my favorite genre, and I'm so happy you wrote those books! If you don't mind me asking, how do you conduct your research for historical fiction books? What's it like writing historical fiction? Any tips on how to write it? Some "Don't-Do's" for writing it? And how to write a well developed short story? Thanks!
