Goodreads asked Nirupama P.R.V.:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Nirupama P.R.V. 1. Just start writing.
Conquer your fears and simply begin.
Start a blog. Join one of the NaNoWriMo sessions. Attend an event for writers at your library or through Meetups. Join a writer's group : online or in real life.
But start. Show your work. Put it out there and receive feedback. I would recommend the above mentioned groups/ channels, because the members are in the sphere, and hence will be considerate and thoughtful.
Try your hand at different genres and styles. It will improve your thought process and perspectives, and maybe even reveal a new, never-before-considered format.
Make writing a regular habit. Set a timer if you must and plunge into your craft. Practice does make perfect!
2. Read, read, read.
Devour all sorts of books. Different genres, varied formats :plays, poetries, drama, epistolary, flash fiction, long-form and all styles: first person, third person, multiple perspectives- try to cover every angle. The more you read, the better your voice, narrative and flow will be.
3. Stay Motivated.
This is most important: Keep going, don't quit!
All the Best and Success!
