Goodreads asked Nirupama P.R.V.:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Nirupama P.R.V. I have two fail-proof methods.
- Head over to Daily Prompt at Wordpress and pick a prompt. If I don't like the current one, choose another. I limit myself to five attempts, though. If I am still unsure; I just randomly choose one of the five I viewed. Set a timer for 20 minutes and start writing.
- For novels or fiction, [or even blog posts], I imagine what a character would do at a party. Again, set a timer for twenty minutes and start writing.

The point is to set a short timespan, a specific hook and just let the words flow. It won't be perfect but it will force me to think. And it will get me past that seemingly insurmountable hurdle of a blank page.
Bonus Tip: Join NaNoWriMo at least once. Regardless of how many words you write, the community of like-minded and sympathetic writers will feel empowering and reassuring. Also, every writing session comes with a ton of resources and techniques for every obstacle faced by writers of all genres. That alone is reason enough to be part of the community.

With many good wishes,
Keep writing and share your Story,
Nirupama
