Oliver E. Cadam Some of the happiest days of my life have been spent as a very independent little boy running carefree and unfettered in the English countryside. In those days I used to love to read about Tom Sawyer and his pal Huck Finn, down there on the banks of the mighty Mississippi, building rafts and getting into all sorts of scrapes much like me and my friends on the less daunting but still threatening swirl of the river Lune above Lancaster. To share that Deep South experience with those boys for just a little while would be truly magical - and a little kiss from Miss Becky Thatcher wouldn't be avoided either!
