Goodreads asked Gerry Bartlett:

How do you get inspired to write?

Gerry Bartlett I get ideas everywhere! I read an article in the newspaper and there is a great story that sparks an idea for a character. The book I'm writing now, book 3 in the Texas Heat series, has a lawyer for the main character. The Houston Chronicle is running a series on the history of Houston. They profiled three of the characters who were lawyers in my hometown who represented some pretty strange criminals. I got some great story ideas from that one article for my hero. Of course he's a hunky guy who has a bit of bad boy in him too. I just love that type and my readers seem to also.
