Goodreads asked Gerry Bartlett:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Gerry Bartlett Learn your craft before you self-publish. I think there's a lot of sub-par work being put on the Internet before it's ready. I worked hard to learn before I got published. These days it's way too easy to just publish what you've written. I had to go through a lot before my first book was ready for the public. I don't think that's a bad thing. At least let someone who will tell you the truth read your work first before it's on-line. What goes up on the 'Net is there forever. It will set your reputation. Be sure it makes you proud.
