I started my love of romance with Gone With the Wind. Scarlett and Rhett of course. But I rewrote the ending in my head. See? I was a writer when I was in junior high and didn't know it. I always expected Scarlett to get him back. I have to have a happy ending. Rhett was such a great alpha hero and Scarlett surely learned her lesson, finally. That's what I decided anyway.

I'm also working on a prequel for my Real Vampires series. I had said from the beginning that my heroine, Glory St. Clair was turned in 1604. Now I'm researching that era and have jumped into the story--When Glory Met Jerry. If you follow the series, you know who Jeremiah Campbell is. He is her vampire lover and the Highlander who turns her vamp. I'm having fun with this one. I get to go back to Shakespeare's Globe theater and Glory had actually been starving at the beginning. Jerry fattens her up because he loves a woman with curves! Oh boy does she get to enjoy eating before that fateful decision to get her own fangs. No idea when I'll finish that book yet but I'm aiming for Christmas.

I get ideas everywhere! I read an article in the newspaper and there is a great story that sparks an idea for a character. The book I'm writing now, book 3 in the Texas Heat series, has a lawyer for the main character. The Houston Chronicle is running a series on the history of Houston. They profiled three of the characters who were lawyers in my hometown who represented some pretty strange criminals. I got some great story ideas from that one article for my hero. Of course he's a hunky guy who has a bit of bad boy in him too. I just love that type and my readers seem to also.

Yes, I'm working on Rafe and the Redhead now, the story of Rafael Valdez, Glory's best friend and former bodyguard and his girl, were-cat Lacy Devereau. The book/novella should be out by the end of May. Thanks for asking!

I wish they would but as of now, the answer is no. The publisher owns the audio rights and they aren't pursuing those yet. It's an expensive proposition and they don't seem to think they can make a profit. Boo. Hiss. Thanks for asking!

It's taking me longer than I thought to do this one, Theresa. Tying up loose ends, letting Glory go. It's hard!! Anyway, I can see I'll have some novellas to write after this book to tell stories about minor characters once Glory is safely married to Jerry. So don't give up on me or on the Real Vampires gang. I'm going as fast as I can. Thanks for your loyalty!

I'm working on book 11 in my Real Vampires series, Real Vampires Say Read My Hips and two different series proposals. All are paranormal vampire series. What can I say? I love my vampires and dark heroes.

Learn your craft before you self-publish. I think there's a lot of sub-par work being put on the Internet before it's ready. I worked hard to learn before I got published. These days it's way too easy to just publish what you've written. I had to go through a lot before my first book was ready for the public. I don't think that's a bad thing. At least let someone who will tell you the truth read your work first before it's on-line. What goes up on the 'Net is there forever. It will set your reputation. Be sure it makes you proud.

I love being my own boss and working from home. Also creating my own characters and worlds is so much fun. I can let my imagination go wild when writing paranormals. And earning money doing it? Awesome.

I don't get writer's block but I do get a case of avoidance. I avoid the computer by shopping for my antiques business or reading. So I need hard deadlines to make myself keep my nose to the grindstone. When I do get busy, I have lots of ideas and the work flows. I know I'm lucky that happens.

Yes, Alex. I'm working on book 11, Real Vampires Say Read My Hips, now. No release date yet but it should be out by the end of the summer. Thanks for asking!
