I know you recently had a baby. Congratulations! Did having a child change your writing process or ideas for books at all? I love your past books, but I think it's awesome that you went in a new direction for your newest book, and it's very entertaining.

Thank you! Having a kid has made it so that I have to set firm boundaries between work and home life. Before my daughter, I could work whenever I wanted. Because my husband is also a writer, there was never much need to delineate between work and home life. They could blend into each other with very little conflict.
But my daughter requires my full attention when I'm with her and so I need to then dedicate my full attention to my work when I have time without her.
As for thematically, I think having a child has shown me a new side of the world and it has given me a lot to think about it, a lot to have opinions about, a lot to write about. I'm invigorated by seeing this angle on life and delving into what it means for me and other people in similar -- or dissimilar -- circumstances.

Hi Taylor, I love the complexity of your plot in all of your stories but particularly in your latest, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (I loved every word of this book btw). Did you come up right away with the idea of constructing the story as you did, i.e. having Monique's POV and then having Evelyn tell the story? It works so well. I just finished the book on an airplane today, and I miss your characters!!
