Goodreads asked Taylor Jenkins Reid:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Taylor Jenkins Reid You know, I once had a dog named Owl that would -- somehow -- jump a four foot dog gate while I was gone in order to leave her cornered off area in the kitchen and have free reign of the house.

I could never catch her doing it. And she was an old, crotchety dog who seemed to have no exceptional physical skill. But she would jump that fence when no one was looking -- leaving the fence untouched -- time and time again.

If someone could please write a book about what Owl was doing while no one was home, I'd greatly appreciate it. She was a fascinating, endlessly surprising, stubborn, grumpy, loving dog and I miss her dearly. It would bring me great joy to finally understand the inner workings of her mind.
