Is the town of Hedley based on somewhere real? Is it named after anyone or anything? How about the Southern Reach HQ building? Or Rock Bay?

Hedley's just a kind of amalgamation of several small southern towns. The HQ building is based on Soviet Brutalist architecture. Rock Bay is based on Botanical Bay on Vancouver Island.

Wonderbook is the only writing book I’ve ever a) enjoyed, b) related to as a writer, & c) finished reading! I’ve read many books about how to come up with an idea, but you turned the world upside down w/ the idea of LIVING WITHIN the story. That's the only way I know how to write, & it's also the only way to write something passionate. Do you offer workshops? The book altered my view of my novel & I want more!

Hi. While I myself like to read your work in English, I find that I'm mostly unable to recommend it to all the people I would like to since most of my friends read only in Spanish. Given that the Southern Reach trilogy has been translated, are there any plans to translate the Ambergris books into Spanish in the near future?
