Ms. Jen!!! It's me Tracii! Haha. Lol, I hope you remember me. I am just curious as to how you find inspiration in what name to give to the characters in your book?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi again, Traci! I don't name my characters right away. I wait until I get a feeling for their personalities and background, so that I will know if the name is the right one for them. My names come from one of three inspirations:

1) Symbolic names (Nicolas, in Latin, means "victory of the people; Conner gets his name because he's a con-man)

2) Baby name books (Gerta, Imogen, Tobias)

3) I make them up (Amarinda, Roden, Mott) by combining the sounds of letters until it sounds like a real name.
