With so many amazing novels you have already written, where do you find the inspiration to keep writing as well as keeping your books entertaining and "fresh?"

Well, the mercenary answer is -- it's my job. It's how I pay the bills and feed my kids. And doing those things are an inspiration, of sorts. But... it's also a job that I dearly love. I'm an artist, and in a world where artists get shit on and screwed more and more and more, I'm lucky enough to make art for a living. I'm lucky enough to get paid to create and entertain people. And that is inspiration enough right there.

Hey, Brian, I just finished reading Ghoul and this was the first time in my life I've read a book with a character that shared my name. I have to say, I wish he'd met a more grisly end at the hands of the ghoul, but at least he got what's coming to him. Naturally, I have to ask how you chose the name?
