Goodreads asked Vicki Wilkerson:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Vicki Wilkerson The answer to this question is fun. When I was in middle school, we had an end-of-the-year dance, and on the last song, a tall, handsome boy (whom I had never seen before) asked me to dance to "Nights in White Satin." I never forgot that dance...or that boy. I went on to date lots of guys in high school and beyond, married, divorced, dated some more, but I never forgot my mystery dancer. After years of heartache, I married again; it was someone from high school that I'd had a crush on 36 years before! Years later, he told me the same story--that he'd danced with a "pretty girl" at that same dance, and he'd never forgotten her. I had married that boy who had danced into my heart over 43 years ago when I was only thirteen! As you might imagine, "Nights in White Satin" is our favorite song. Hey! After seeing our story in words, I think I WILL write a novel about it!
