What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Taylor Jenkins Reid Sometimes I swear the best thing about being a writer is working in your sweatpants.

But most of the time, I'll tell you that the best thing about being a writer is losing yourself in another person's story. I love creating people and thinking of what makes them tick -- what their fears are, what their dreams are -- and then what that says about people in general.

I love characters. And I've always loved characters. And that's why I write.
