Sarah I know. There are several on here I want to read that are also part of my challenge and I love reading with the group. ROOM isn't 2012 but I want to read it and it is on my book shelf. If a book isn't chosen can we nominate it again?

A couple of this months nominations were also nominated last month. So yes, they can be re-nominated next month.

Maybe we could have a top two additional reads? Like with March where we had both Defending Jacob and Delirium.

Maybe...but May already has 2 award winners scheduled, plus a series read. If they chose the top two here, that would be 5 books for the month for the group, which is a lot.

There's more than one that I want to read on the list too. Maybe they'll be nominated again, if they don't win.

This has already been discussed (between the moderaters) and the number of additional books will depends on the amount of books already scheduled from the winners and series winners reads.

In May we already have 3 books scheduled, so we feel only one additional read would be appropriate.

Don't forget, you're more than welcome to start a buddy read within the group if you want.

message 7: by Jojo (new)

Jojo I din't realise there were 3 scheduled reads already...I assumed one monthly, one series! I probably should pay more attention to the calendar!! Though it could be that since I've already read two of them, part of my brain was blocking them out! Lol!

message 8: by Kambree (new)

Kambree Bennett i havent read any of these books but im a big reader ive never been in a book club before unless you count battle of the books when i was in school.. I am excited to see what book is chosen so I can go buy it and join in on the discussions.

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well. I highly recommend The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. His novels are always a life-learning experience. You get to appreciate the beautiful gift of life once you finish reading his novels. Wishing you all the best!

In May.
Well yes there r three choices and one is Looking for Alaska which I don't get. Is it a 2012 award winner? I mean one of his books were chosen as next months read as well and it is not like a series read. Is it a book chosen by the moderator because somebody is a huge fan of John Green?

message 12: by Lynn (last edited Mar 25, 2013 12:39PM) (new)

Lynn Mod
The month we are reading Looking for Alaska is April (next month), and the reason we are reading it is because the members of this group voted for it last month as the additional read winner.

We are reading Fault in Stars in May because it's a Goodreads Choice Awards winner for 2012.
The poll above and this discussion about how many books to read is for May.

If you ever want to know why we are reading a book, look at our bookshelf (http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh... ) and click on the link that says view activity. Each book has a 'Why we're reading this' heading.

message 14: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Yes you r right. I was looking at the April list for May and getting all confused.

Hi Tracy,

I highly recommend The Time Keeper. Since you have read Mitch Albom's other books, then I have no doubt that you will also enjoy his latest book. Wishing you all the best. Happy reading!

Lynn Mod
Well it looks like all of us will be reading it, because it's by far the front runner in the poll and I doubt it will be caught ......

message 20: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska I've already provided myself with a copy of The Time Keeper ;)

message 21: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Not my vote :-( but I may give it a try and buy it on my kindle or just read some other 2012 nominations to add to my personal challenge.

I'm really looking forward to reading The Time Keeper. It was one of three books on the list that I'm planning to read whether they win or not. :)

Lynn- Thanks for having the results open so that people can watch the books move around. I love checking on it to see the progress!

message 23: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska Lynn, I join in to the thanks, I also have great fun checking the results every few hours :)

I'm forever checking the result, I'm a bit obsessed! lol

message 25: by Kate (new)

Kate Just a recommendation for everyone! I thoroughly enjoyed The Time Keeper, by Mitch Albon. Such a thought-provoking story (alongside his other novels of course) and although it is a short novel, take the time to be swept up within Albon's wise words and description! Enjoy it!

message 26: by Sarah (last edited Mar 30, 2013 12:04AM) (new)

Sarah Well since it is a short read I say we also choose another one. Because a fault in our stars is also a very quick and easy read and not everyone is going to do the series or sci fi. I think it is pretty clear which book is winning in the polls unless a lot of people change there votes last minute. I know the decision was already made about another choice but I am just giving my two sense. I will be reading about five of these choices regardless.
