I like alt-history works and I was recently having a discussion about WWII and what may have changed had it gone differently.

So given that I had to vote for Farthing

Really curious about Farthing too. My vote is always in flux, so we'll see.

I'm going with Farthing, as I read Among Others recently and thought it was excellent. Earth I've read, don't care to reread it, and Red Mars I've been halfway through for many years. Rama I read way back when it was first published, while good, it's not calling to me. The others I can't quite tell, maybe the discussion will bring out more compelling reasons for me to switch my vote.

Farthing is great. . . but I had to vote Ammonite. I read Slow River last year and it was incredible.

I own Red Mars and have been wanting to read it for a while. Maybe it will win?

based in some strong recommendations from the GR peeps, there's a copy of 'ammonite' sitting here waiting to be read. but ditto, just read the marvelous 'among others', so 'farthing' would be alrighty too.

Switching my vote to Ammonite because I've always meant to get round to it someday. Also, maybe we can have a 3 way tie!
