The Iron King by Julie Kagawa The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa On her 16th birthday, Meghan Chase's four-year-old half brother is exchanged for a changeling and she discovers that her best friend, Robbie, is actually Robin Greenfellow, aka Puck, from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. He is her guardian and will lead her into the faery world to rescue her brother. Once there, Meghan learns that she is a princess, daughter of Oberon, king of the Seelie Court. With a mortal mother and a faery king for a father, she is very powerful, and Oberon and Queen Mab, queen of the Unseelie Court, are both fighting to keep her. With help from Puck and a talking cat, Meghan sneaks into the Unseelie Court to rescue Ethan, only to discover that he is held captive by more powerful forces that could destroy the entire fey world. Meghan is a likable heroine and her quest is fraught with danger and adventure. The action never stops, and Meghan's romance with Ash, the handsome prince of the Unseelie Court, provides some romance that is sure to continue in the sequel.

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh In a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of "rehabilitation"- the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was....
Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a Changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy co-existence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several Changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion-and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities-or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation...

Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice Interview With the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles, #1) by Anne Rice In the now-classic novel Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice refreshed the archetypal vampire myth for a late-20th-century audience. The story is ostensibly a simple one: having suffered a tremendous personal loss, an 18th-century Louisiana plantation owner named Louis Pointe du Lac descends into an alcoholic stupor. At his emotional nadir, he is confronted by Lestat, a charismatic and powerful vampire who chooses Louis to be his fledgling. The two prey on innocents, give their "dark gift" to a young girl, and seek out others of their kind (notably the ancient vampire Armand) in Paris.

Warrior by Zoe Archer Warrior (The Blades of the Rose, #1) by Zoe Archer The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond - where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn't be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress - just what he needs. Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artefact Thalia is after. Huntley's assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn't easy to deceive...

Demon Angel by Meljean Brook Demon Angel (The Guardians, #1) by Meljean Brook All hell breaks loose in Meljean Brook's erotic, supernatural debut novel.

Skin Game by Ava Gray Skin Game (Skin, #1) by Ava Gray Ann Aguirre's first book as Ava Gray adds a tiny touch of the psychic to a riveting romantic suspense novel. Con woman Kyra Beckwith can absorb a person's special skills through touch, allowing her to beat them at their own game. She rips off and humiliates a casino owner who then orders a hit on her. Hired for the job by a strange intermediary with an agenda of his own is Reyes, who only kills those he finds deserving of death. Posing as a drifter, he offers Kyra his protection after her latest mark threatens her. Chemistry sizzles between them, and once Reyes realizes his contact lied to him about Kyra's history, the two team up to figure out what's really going on. Strong, nuanced character development adds depth to the danger, but over-the-top coincidence and drama occasionally interrupt the narrative flow. (
